Study Center Saturdays will provide students with an additional day to access school resources and materials.

Academic achievement will be improved by significantly increasing the time on task for students. The non-threatening atmosphere will allow a smaller student to teacher ratio to create a very positive experience, which is precisely what many Study Center Saturday attendees need. This will enhance the learning, test prep, or enrichment and encourage future attendance. By allowing students the choice to attend Study Center Saturdays and take ownership of their personal learning, we make learning more meaningful and relevant.

Specifically, students will:
-utilize technology that may not be available at home
-offer additional time on Success maker, Study
Island,Discovery Education, or Academy
-opportunity to view powerpoints, notes, & movies
(Brainpop) in order to catch up from being behind in
class or absent
-completing work/ assignments and doing research
-providing students access to actual textbooks or
online versions
-providing a safe place for groups to meet and work
together on projects
-a study setting for individual or group test
prep
-test completion for students absent during the week
-opportunity for athletes to maintain grades during season
Students will be completing a survey upon their first visit to Study Center Saturdays. Questions will include activities/skills the student wishes to accomplish during the visit(s), why he/she chose to attend or was required to attend, what he/she feels are strengths and weaknesses, etc. There will also be a survey given to all participants at the end of the program in March/April.
