Walter J. Baird Middle School has adopted the following core values:
1. Respect at Walter J. Baird is showing a high or special regard, esteem, and honor for one’s parents, teachers, persons in authority, fellow students, and oneself. When respect is shown, there is a positive interaction between all parties. Respect is shown by being trustworthy, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, reverent, and honest to all persons.
2. Responsibility is being accountable for one’s actions and realizing that actions have consequences. It is maturing from “It got lost” to “I lost it”. Responsibility is coming to school daily, on time, and getting the job done while you are here.
3. Participation : At Walter J. Baird, participation means contributing your talents, your time, and your thoughts and ideas to classwork and discussions, homework, to curricular and extracurricular activities.
4. Compassion is treating others like you want to be treated, and putting others and their situations before your own.
All Walter J. Baird faculty, staff, and students are expected to adhere to these values.
