6th Grade Parent Orientation Night

On Thursday, May 8th, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, members of the administration, faculty, and staff will host a night for parents of upcoming 6th graders zoned for Walter J. Baird.  We are so excited to welcome new students and their families into our building.  We hope this is a great way to introduce you to the culture of Walter J. Baird, where we teach and display Blue Devil Pride and equip students to be compassionate,  life long learners.

The topics discussed at this orientation will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Academics
  • Athletics
  • Cell phone policy
  • Discipline
  • Dress code
  • Extracurricular activities

There will also be a portion of the orientation where you will hear from current 6th graders to get an idea of a day in the life of a WJB 6th grader.  Additionally, 6th grade teachers will also be in attendance, so that you can begin meeting the dedicated professionals who will be teaching your children in the 2025-2026 academic year.  Finally, there will be a brief tour of the school so that you and your child can know what to expect when school starts on August 1st, 2025.  We hope to see you Thursday!
