Water Day Parent Letter 25-26
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
We are excited to announce that WJB will be hosting our final BDP Reward on May 20, 2026. This day will include 3 rotations: beach ball volleyball/dance party, water station, and carnival/movie! This fun-filled event is a great way for students to enjoy outdoor activities, bond with their peers, and celebrate the positive behaviors exhibited this school year. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we would like to outline the dress code expectations for the day.
Water Day Dress Code:
Swimwear:
- A t-shirt and shorts must be worn over the swimsuit during activities.
- Students are allowed to wear swimwear appropriate for a school setting underneath the t-shirt and shorts.
- One-piece swimsuits are preferred. If a two-piece swimsuit is worn, it must be a tankini style that provides full coverage.
- All swimwear must be modest and not revealing.
- Water shoes, tennis shoes, or croc-style shoes must be worn at all times.
Towels:
- Please send your child with a towel, a bag for storing wet clothing, and a change of clothes for after the event, including undergarments, socks, and shoes. We recommend applying sunscreen before arriving at school.
Carnival/Movie:
- All students attending: All students will attend either the carnival or the movie.
- Carnival: The carnival is for those students who meet the requirements laid out for all BDP Rewards: No more than 3 Direct Office Referrals and no more than 3 unexcused absences.
- Movie: Students who do not meet the requirements for the carnival will be given movie time during this rotation.
Additional Guidelines:
- No Water Balloons or Super Soakers: To maintain a safe environment, we ask that students NOT bring water balloons, water guns, or any other outside items as all activities are pre-planned with all necessary equipment provided.
- Hydration: Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Help: Students need to arrive at school with swimwear worn under dress code clothing. Students will need to change out of swimwear following the water day activities.
- Concessions: There will be concessions available. All items will be sold for $2 each. Pelican’s Snocones will be available for purchase at the water rotation and prices vary. A carnival food truck will be available for students at the carnival to purchase sweet treats. Those prices vary and a menu will be sent out as well.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that all students are dressed appropriately for this special event. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me through email at [email protected] prior to the actual day of events.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a fantastic BDP Reward Day to support and increase students’ positive behaviors!
Sincerely, Lauren Bible Walter J Baird Middle School
