BDP Rewards: A New Behavior System
Walter J. Baird Middle School is excited to introduce BDP Rewards, a new positive behavior recognition system launching in the 2025–2026 school year. This system replaces the previous PBIS points system and is designed to strengthen school culture, recognize positive behavior, and motivate students to strive for excellence.
Why BDP Rewards?
The BDP Rewards System was created to better support students and staff while promoting a consistent, positive school-wide culture. Key benefits include:
- An acknowledgment system that promotes a positive school climate
- Recognition for students who meet or exceed Tier I expectations
- Encouragement of cooperation and positive peer interactions
- Healthy competition that motivates students to strive for “better”
- Support for approximately 80–85% of the student population through Tier I practices
- Empowerment of staff to positively influence student behavior using an existing, cohesive system
- A shared vision and consistent expectations across the school
- Timely and manageable monitoring of rewards and celebrations
