BETA Club
About BETA Club
Walter J. Baird's BETA Club is a part of the National BETA Junior Division, an organization dedicated to promoting academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. BETA Club members are student leaders who strive for excellence both in and out of the classroom while making a positive impact on their school and community.
Membership
Students are selected for BETA Club based on academic standing, accomplishments, and demonstrated character. Membership is by invitation and reflects a commitment to scholarship, responsibility, and service.
What We Do
WJB BETA members participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Community and school service projects
- Leadership development opportunities
- Academic and artistic competitions
- Collaborative team-building activities
Members are encouraged to give back to their community while developing confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Meetings & Participation
The club meets in the morning on pre-announced days throughout the school year. At times, students may also stay after school to practice, rehearse, or contribute to service projects and competition preparation.
Conventions & Competitions
Each year, BETA Club members have the opportunity to attend regional, state, and national conventions. Students may compete in a wide range of academic, artistic, and leadership events while representing Walter J. Baird Middle School.
Student Expectations
BETA Club members are expected to:
- Maintain strong academic performance
- Act as positive role models at WJB
- Actively participate in meetings, service projects, and events
- Demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and respect
