Rise Up

A few years back, then Assistant Principal, Bobby Brown saw the needs that our young men had at Walter J. Baird.

 

He, with the help of a group of Cumberland University football players and Walter J.’s former SRO, Patrick Seay, created a group that began in the 2018-19 school year called Rise Up.

 

The boys meet every Friday to talk about making good choices, self-esteem and serving others.

 

On occasion, the group has been known to go on an off campus field trip to a baseball or football game and they have went fishing.

 

The young men are selected based on several criteria set in place by WJB.
