Blue Devil Basketball

The Walter J. Baird Middle School Blue Devil Basketball Team is a competitive and spirited program dedicated to developing strong athletes and confident leaders. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth—both on and off the court.

Current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade boys who are interested in basketball and are enrolled at WJB for the upcoming school year are encouraged to try out in the spring. Prior basketball experience is helpful but not required—coaches are looking for athletes who are willing to work hard, eager to learn, and committed to being supportive teammates.

Blue Devil Basketball takes place during the winter season, typically from October through February. Games are scheduled throughout the season against other area schools, and the team may participate in both local and state tournaments depending on the schedule. Players are expected to attend all practices, games, and team events. Commitment, positive teamwork, and strong school spirit are essential values for our team.
 
Tryouts are typically held in May with practices beginning in the summer months. Specific dates and times will be shared in advance.
